Meet the Artist: El Sullivan

My name is El Sullivan, Sophomore. I enjoy competing in Irish dance, playing violin, and crochet. In Peter and the Starcatcher, I play Fighting Prawn, the ferocious king of the mollusks. I found theater in freshman year. I always wanted to try it, so I started with costumes, then tried acting and immediately fell in love with it. A lot of funny things happen during rehearsals. We were practicing the shipwreck scene where we are supposed to break the ship in two, but the model ship we were using disintegrated in my hands, which had nothing to do with me dropping it on the ground a lot.

I relate to the story because growing up I felt like no one cared, a lot like Peter in the beginning of the play. Over the years I have met my own Prentiss, Teddy, and Molly, and have had my own adventures. I hope that after people come to the show they will think about the characters and their futures. It would also be great if they could link Peter and the Starcatcher to the books, musicals, and movies.
