Who are you? What year are you? What are your interests?
Hi! I’m Emme Buesing and I’m a Junior at Homestead High School. Outside of theatre, I love to dance, it has been one of my passions for so long. I also love to sing and hang out with my friends!
What exactly do you do for Oklahoma!?
I play Dream Curly in the ballet (the cooler version of Ryan Kramer). I have the role of farmer and I’m a featured dancer!
Why did you join Oklahoma!?
I did Peter and the Starcatcher and loved the environment, so I figured why not do it again but this time with singing and dancing two things I love to do.
Tell us a story from rehearsal, pit practice, or crew session.
In the first few months of rehearsal, we didn’t have anything choreographed for the ballet so everytime it would come on Greer and I would griddy around the stage for 14 minutes and tried convincing Figg that the ballet should only be us griddying. Spoiler the ballet is not us griddying around the stage 😦 Another fun story or now tradition is every time the boys go on to sing “It’s a Scandal,” all the girls backstage start singing and hyping each other up. Booty poppers are a move that gets used most in these moments.
What is Oklahoma! about? Why should people come to see it?
Oklahoma! is such an exciting musical! There’s action, love, comedy and so much more. It’s about people going through trials to truly discover what’s important to them and who they’re meant to be with. People should come to see it because Oklahoma! is a true classical musical with big song and dance numbers!
What do you hope the audience will think about in the car as they drive home after this show?
