Meet the Artist: Lizzie Eckl

My name is Lizzie Eckl, I am a junior and I enjoy watching movies and I am also in orchestra.

Why did you want to be in the One Act Competition Class? Is it what you thought it would be? How many times have you taken One Act?
I know a lot of people who have taken it and enjoyed it so I decided to do it too. This is my first year and I didn’t really know what to expect but it’s been fun so far.

What do you do in the One Act class?
I have helped build the set and I also run the LED lights during the show.

What is the play about? How have you helped create it?
Everyman is about a character named “Everyman” who is met with death and they don’t want to die alone so they go through different characters who make them who they are (for example, the 5 senses, wealth, knowledge, strength, etc.) In the end, Everyman is finally at peace and able to accept that they are about to die. I helped make the pull-up bars that are used often in the show and I also helped make some of the light cues.

Do you have any stories from class that you wish to share?
That’s a good question but I can’t think of anything really interesting that happened.

What’s different this year about the One Act class?
I don’t know I’ve never done it before but the people are different.

Tell us a random fact about yourself.
I like turtles.
