Meet the Artist: Teagan Kexel

Who are you?  What year are you?  What are your interests?
Teagan Kexel, I’m a sophomore, and I like to sing and act. I play one of the major general’s many daughters in The Pirates of Penzance. I love to sing this is my third show at Homestead and I hope to continue and do most, if not all of them.

What is one story you can tell from rehearsals, pit practices, or crew sessions?
All of the great voice cracks this show gave us, after singing an operetta every day for months make a lot of us have some interesting voice cracks.

If you know the show, what’s your favorite part?  A scene, a song, anything.  Why is it your favorite?
My favorite song/ scene is “With Cat-like Tread,” because they are supposed to be “quiet” but they are anything but, and it looks very visually appealing and they sound beautiful.

What do you hope the audience will be thinking about in the car as they drive home after this show?
I hope people will think about how hard it is to put on a show like this. All of us are giving it our all and after seeing the amazing show we put together they recognize how much this all means to us.
