Hi! My name is Gabrielle Martin and I am a junior. I’m really interested in all things ballet, sleeping, and sugar snap peas. I play the role of Flotsam and a Gull in the TentacGulls ensemble
What brought you to join the cast, crew, pit for The Little Mermaid?
I LOVE this musical, and also I love working with the people that are involved in the show.
Do you have any stories from rehearsals, practices or crew sessions?
Putting together Under the Sea and all the hype and good energy that surrounded it.
All art comments on something, aligns itself with current issues. How does The Little Mermaid comment on current social or political issues and has it influenced you this winter?
I feel like the story really sends messages about realizing that we are more similar to each other than different (King Tritons storyline)
What do you hope the audience will be thinking about in the car as they drive home after this show?
Definitely “Under the Sea”!!!
What’s one thing that is different in this play or rehearsal process than anything else we’ve done in the Homestead Theatre Department?
We had a lot of student leadership involvement during the rehearsal process.
