Who are you? What year are you? What are your interests?
I am Addison Drumm, I am a sophomore, and I love art, music, Latin, and anything to do with nature/the earth.
What exactly do you do for Peter and the Starcatcher?
I play the boisterous and very British Mrs. Bumbrake in Peter and the Starcatcher.
What brought you to join the cast for Peter and the Starcatcher?
I love theater and acted in two of the shows last year. I also grew up watching Disney’s Peter Pan and wanted to explore the prequel a bit.
Do you have any stories from rehearsals?
One of the most traumatic days was when Owen Gudex got blood on the aerial rope–the rope that many bare feet have gripped–and had to suck the blood out with his mouth. The enthusiasm for using that rope has decreased since…
Another jolly time was the first day we rehearsed the ship splitting in two. Greer and I have to be holding onto a trunk during this, and it’s so obnoxious. We have Greer straddling the chest and me flopping and rolling next to her. Neither of us can take each other seriously.
Peter and the Starcatcher is a prequel to Peter Pan and a comedy about finding your own path and how you fit in the world. How have you connected to the story?
Not to be cheesy, but a big part of high school is figuring out your place and where you fit into the world. In a way I find Peter and the Starcatcher to be kind of comforting with its lessons. It tells us that it doesn’t matter how big of an impact you make or where you come from, as long as you care for the people around you and find beauty in the little things.
What do you hope the audience will be thinking about in the car as they drive home after this show?
Hopefully all good things. This show is super funny, so I hope they find joy in it as well as connect to some of the deeper messages.
