My name is Anaya Adams. I am a senior this year and outside of One Act, I like to sing, sleep, read, and watch TV.
Honestly, I wasn’t actually sure what the One Act class was before I signed up. I will have taken all or almost all the acting classes by the end of this year. I think the idea of creating a performance for a class is super exciting.
In the One Act class, I am the lead in our devised play “Everyman”. I try to remember the ever-changing lines and blocking. “Everyman” is a morality play. It is about who you are and the things you do on Earth and how that transcends throughout your life and when you go. Everyone can see themselves in the role of Everyman and that allows the message to get through to anyone.
Everyone in the class has added small things into some parts of the play. I got to help with some aspects of movement (which there is a lot of) in the play and also I get to add my own interpretations of
Everyman and how they move throughout the play.
A fun story that didn’t necessarily happen in the class is when the cast list came out. I was
actually sleeping and I got a call from Emme, who plays Mom and Good Deeds, and I answered
the phone to just her yelling “CONGRATSSSS” and all I could respond with was “huh?!”…so
that’s how I found out I was the lead.

Something different about this One Act class is that it is actually a pretty big cast, it took us like
a week to actually pick what play we wanted to do, and we chose to devise the play ourselves.
A random fandom fact about myself is that I think I sleep more than I am awake on most days.
lol and my favorite genre of books is dystopian fiction.
