So… you have a class with Ms. Figg-Franzoi? Yeah, that’s Figg… she’s the theatre teacher. Most students will tell you she’s weird, has an odd fashion sense, and her classes are AWESOME!! Ok… well, maybe that last part was said by Figg. She’s embarking on her seventh year at HHS where she mostly teaches theatre classes, but there was that one semester where she taught an English class.
Theatre Production Seminar
One Act Competition Class
Independent Studies in Theatre Arts
So… yeah… lots of theatre. It’s been her life since she was a kid, theatre, dance and music. But that’s to be expected right? She came from a family of teachers and knew she wanted to be a teacher once she reached high school. She graduated from Marquette University with a double major in Theatre and Education and went to school at UW-Milwaukee for her Masters of Fine Arts in Dance.
Ok, tell us something we don’t know? Choosing questions from “800 random questions”, Figg will tell you some things you might not know…
Whats your favorite color?
Blue… all shades of blue. But for awhile in high school it was orange. The only reason was that I bought a delightful bright orange pea-coat at the thrift store and realized the majesty of the color.
If you were a super hero what powers would you have?
I want to be able to fly and speak any language I come in contact with. But really, the flying thing is top priority. I think I do aerial because it gets me closer to flying.
What was your last dream about?
I was solving a murder and being chased by the killer in a weird labyrinth. I had just finished watching an episode of Sherlock.
What talents do you have?
Umm… yes? On the bottom of my acting resume I have “Can knit, skateboard, make balloon animals and speak in UK dialects.” Do those count? Oh, I whittle too!
Do you have a cherished childhood teddybear?
Yes, his name is Albert the Running Bear. I also have a cherished Adulthood teddybear. His name is Darren and I found him in York four years ago. He lives at Homestead and makes his rounds with the Drama Club.
What is your favorite zoo animal?
The Red Panda… I always go visit them first.
What is your favorite sport?
The Packers… I know it’s not a sport, but they are my only tie to sports and I like them because I’m a Franzoi and Franzoi’s have to love the Packers.
What is your favorite food?
Pasta… I could eat Pasta for the rest of my life and never be bored.
What is your favorite pizza topping?
What is your favorite song?
Do people really have one of these? Honestly? I don’t. I like music, lots of music. I don’t have one song I always go back to. At school you’ll hear Love Today by Mika or Bonfire by Knife Party coming from the Black Box speakers at any given moment, but they are two of many songs I love.
What is your favorite TV show?
Again, do people have just one? Ouran High School Host Club is an anime I go back and watch often, or Fruits Basket. If you haven’t guessed already I’m a nerd. I also watch Bones and Sherlock over and over again. Doctor Who back when it was good was also a favorite.
Which is better? rollerblades or rollerskates?
Rollerskates, duh! I’m lusting after a pair right now.
What are cooler? Dinosaurs or Dragons?
How did you get your name?
My mother liked old Victorian names, so Amelia was the first choice if I was a girl. If was was born a boy, I’d have been named Christopher (I was born before they knew the baby’s sex before birth).
If you had to describe yourself as a flavor, what would it be?
If you had to describe yourself as a car, what would it be?
1960’s blue T-bird convertible
If you had to describe yourself as an animal, what would it be?
Probably a Ferret.
Have you already thought about your babies names?
Yes, they range from Star to Jack to Wolfgang Amadeus or Tad. I think Arabella is pretty, but Star Flower or Moonbeam could be cool too.
So… yes, Figg is odd. We hope you enjoy her classes this year.
